POOL BUILDER in Paso Robles, CA
Pool Tek has 15 years of experience and has built numerous pools in Paso Robles and the surrounding Central Coast communities. James Ratliff runs every job personally, from the first site visit to the final plaster coat. If you call, he picks up. We're not a large company with a call center and a rotating crew. You get the owner, the same team, and the same standard of work on every job.
What Makes
Pool Tek - Paso Robles Different
Most pool builders in this area use subcontractors for plastering. That means once your pool shell is finished, a crew you've never met takes over the most visible part of your pool. They work on a different schedule and answer to a different company. You have very little say in what happens next.
We handle plaster in house is with our own crew. That's the part most builders hand off to a subcontractor, and it's the part that matters most to the finished product. Every plaster job stays under our license, our supervision, and our standard of work. That's C-53 Swimming Pool Contractor License #1007752 if you want to look it up.
What does that mean for you? No gaps in communication. No finger pointing when something needs to be fixed. One company, start to finish.
One Crew, One Standard of Work
The plaster finish is what you see every day for the next 20 years. It's not the place to hand things off to whoever's available that week. When our plaster crew shows up, they already know the project because they've been on site since day one.
Custom Pool Construction
in Paso Robles
Paso Robles properties aren't all the same. Some lots have hard caliche soil that slows excavation. Some have slopes that require extra engineering. A lot of homeowners out here want a pool that fits the wine country setting including clean lines, natural stone, understated. We've built all of it.
We build custom inground pools from the ground up. That includes free form pools, geometric pools, pools with spas, tanning ledges, raised bond beams, water features, and more. If you've seen it on a design website and wondered if it could be built here, the answer is probably yes. Nothing gets turned away just because it's complicated.
Built for the Central Coast Climate
Paso Robles gets real heat in the summer. We factor that into every build, from equipment sizing to finish selection. A pool that performs well in a mild coastal climate isn't always the right spec for a property that hits 105 degrees in August. We've been building here long enough to know the difference.
Pool Renovation and Replastering Too
Not every project is a new build. If your existing pool is showing its age with rough plaster, outdated equipment, or cracked decking, we handle full pool renovations and replaster jobs as well. Same in house crew, same standard of work.
How the Build
Process Works
It starts with a site visit. James comes out, walks the property, and gets a real look at what you're working with. From there we put together a design and a quote. No guessing, no vague ranges. Just an honest number based on what your project actually requires.
Once permits are pulled and you're ready to go, a typical pool build runs 6 to 14 weeks depending on the scope. James stays involved throughout. He's not handing you off to a project manager you've never met. If you call, he answers.
Permits, Inspections, and No Surprises
Every pool we build goes through the proper permit process with San Luis Obispo County. Inspections are part of the job, not an inconvenience. We schedule them, we show up for them, and we don't move to the next phase until everything passes.
